Find an Object is a professional space for museum practitioners to share objects that they wish to find a new home for, enquire about objects or, post requests for objects. It is managed by Collections Trust. By using Find an Object, posting text, images, or other content (“Content”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Professional Conduct
- Contributing institutions are responsible for managing user permissions and ensuring that any individuals they authorise are aware of and comply with these Terms.
- All posts must reflect respectful, collegial, and constructive communication.
- Users are expected to be inclusive, transparent, and culturally sensitivity.
- Users who are posting objects, making enquiries or requests must only do this with the full consent of their host organisation.
3. Account Security
- Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
- Unauthorised access or misuse of an account must be reported immediately.
- Collections Trust is not liable for any loss or damage arising from a failure to protect account details.
4. Content Guidelines
You agree not to post Content that:
- Violates copyright, intellectual property, or privacy rights
- Includes confidential or proprietary information without authorization
- Contains discriminatory, defamatory, or offensive language or imagery
- Promotes commercial products or services without prior approval
- Misrepresents professional credentials, affiliations, or roles
5. Image Use and Attribution
- Images shared must be properly credited and used in accordance with applicable rights and licenses.
- Users must confirm they have permission to share images of artifacts, exhibitions, or individuals.

- You retain ownership of your original Content.

- Collections Trust reserves the right to remove or edit Content that violates these Terms.

- Moderators may issue warnings or request clarification before taking action.
8. Reporting and Resolution
- Users may report inappropriate Content using the contact form.
- Reports will be reviewed promptly and confidentially.
9. Disclaimers
- The Platform is not responsible for the accuracy or legality of user-generated Content.
- Views expressed by users do not necessarily reflect those of the Collections Trust or its partners.
10. Data Privacy and Protection
